Spring 2023 Update

MotoChic™ Diaries

Dear Friends,
Spring is here! Or so the calendar says, but maybe the piles of snow outside your window say otherwise. Whether you’re reading this from a snowy tundra or a beachy bungalow, Spring brings with it a sense of renewal. Perhaps you’re like me and realize your closet and living space are due for a much needed makeover. Or you need to hit the road for a little vacation to beat the atmospheric river blues. However you plan to refresh and rejuvenate this season, MotoChic is here to fuel your Spring fling with new gear finds, inspirational stories from women who have changed the world, and a fresh book pick for your TBR (To Be Read) list!

Women’s Herstory Month

Mary McGee
Inductee of the AMA Hall of Fame, the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame, and the Trailblazer’s Hall of Fame, Mary McGee was the first woman to race a US MC/FIM sanctioned motorcycle race in the United States. She was also the first woman to finish the Baja 1000 and the first woman to compete in road races and motocross in the U.S.

Since then, Mary has been an ambassador for the sport, encouraging others, especially young women, to give motorcycles and competitive riding a try. Through speaking at events and being active on her Facebook page, Mary is a living legend that continues to uplift others and shine a light on the sport. This April, she’ll be the Grand Marshal for the Riding into History Show with the theme “Get Your Heart Racing – Competition Motorcycles”.

What’s in Your Bag?

From taking classes to showing homes to riding dirt bikes— 22-year-old university student and realtor Payton Hubbard knows how important it is to have one bag that can do it all.

“The MotoChic Lauren bag is great for carrying all my day-to-day needs, whether it be my laptop, notebooks, pens and pencils for school and work, or snacks, water bottles, hand sanitizer/wipes, sunglasses, and more for my many other activities. It was even the perfect bag to bring boating on the lake carrying towels, sunscreen, lip balm, a change of clothes and all other boating necessities. With the Lauren bag being so compact, I can still fit so much in it with all its spacious pockets and all the different places to put all my essentials while on the go.

One of my hobbies is riding dirt bikes or being out at our local motocross track. This year, I am honored to be the treasurer of the Idaho Falls Motocross Association. There is nothing I love more than being around dirt bikes and spending days out at the track! One of my favorite things about my Lauren bag is the material it is made from—it’s tough and will not rip or get ruined easily. The water-resistant lining makes it so that the contents inside my bag don’t get wet, which is a big factor for me with all of the things I have done with my bag. Whether it’s out in the rain or snow, or out on the lake, everything in the bag always stays dry. The bag never fails to give me a clean stylish look while always being handy for my day-to-day life.”

Dealer’s Choice

We are thrilled to announce that MotoChic has added the Brake Free helmet light to our catalog of fashionable and functional products! We’ve been a fan of this sleek and simple-to-use safety device that improves rider visibility since we met founder and friend Alex Archhangelskiy preparing for a crowdfunding campaign in 2017. Two years later he and his team appeared on Shark Tank and have since shipped more than 10,000 units and received rave reviews from riders.

Brake Free helmet light

“We designed and patented our own sensor based technology to make Brake Free truly wireless. We didn’t want riders to fuss with splicing wires, installing apps or spending a long time installing it on the helmet.”

Brake Free is a lightweight, ultra-bright smart LED brake light that attaches to the back of any helmet with a secure stick on mount. Its long-lasting rechargeable battery lasts 8-12 hours. Attach Brake Free to your helmet, grab your Lauren bag, and you’re ready to ride in safety and style!
